What does the Check engine light do when you have no codes? Does it stay on or off?

off....check engine light means there's something wrong with the car, hence the reason you have to check it

if theres nothing wrong with your car, and no check engine light, then you are looking good

I just reread my question, my fault

I mean when you're trying to pull codes. And you have the connection on the passenger side jumped is the check light on or off if there are no codes to report.
