I had mine converted to R135 and put antifreeze in.. it'd be cool then eventually lose it. So what I did was get a can of some UV ray type antifreeze and it sealed the leaks. I forgot what brand but it worked.

      wassup onsoku..+ all..

i am a noob to everything and learning when i can and what not.. i will take pics and maybe you guys can pin point?? i went to borders to ck for haynes but no more... i looked at some chiltons but felt haynes was better and more concentrated on the 90-93 rather then a bunch of other things..

the tire guage?? by the radiator, i've pressed it and little - none fizzing comes out.. i will look over ur post in depth and then go from there to see whether or not i should charge..

the thing is.. 1 time as soon as i turn a/c it KILLS the car.. i suspect the compressor is actually hashed.. but maybe 1 to many times of doing it, right now the a/c turns on/off etc w/o KILLING the car like it once was. i may have killed the compressor already.. please advise and i will look again, take pics, post and whatever .. thanks again.. i need to drive a 4-banger, my folk's v6 sucks a lotta gas from me... and plus i feel better in the honda..
      hahahahah

So let me see if i understand this right... i have the foggy window no a/c syndrome too + i deliver pizza on the weekends to support my habits, all the real money goes to the wife ...

If i turn on the a/c i can check my lines for heat/cold to see if it working...
then the reservoir portal for green/gas/anything blowing by....
if i find no corrosion, leaks or damage to the high & low presure lines i can get the garage to suck any of the residual in the lines and then convert and fill? I may check it out this weekend, take pics if i see nething interesting. Man I love these forums!!

FishyMan - I'll let ya know what i find... i have a 90 ex with 177k on it so i defintly say KEEP the Low MI cars! 15 yrs and 177k and the engine humms!

so low = near radiator in wrap and should be cold
so high = hot, near engine bay.

i pressed the valve in front of radiator, little to really really faint his. think im out.. the clear lens bubble thing = empty too.. tomorow i'll take pics.

onsoku, where did u find the retrofit kit??
here's what i found on checkers online:

              for $64 bucks.

is this the one your talking about?? the retrofit?
exactly what do i need LOL ? :P sorry.. any specific kits? how much conditioning oil? how much r134a?

              thanks.

I think I am out. I turned out a/c a bit, not even cold. The low pressure line? behind radiator was not cold at all, if anything it felt a bit hot from the heat of the engine.

I pressed the valves again behind the radiator, and the one behind and near the P/S. Barely and faint hiss. BTW, the caps aren't white, I d k if it's changed or what not. Doubt it.. I still was a bit unsure as to where the high really is, car was too hot to reach around at places.. But a/c was run for 10 minutes on my trip back home. Not cold at all...

The gold = low, silver = high??

So I seem to be out. So what is the next step guys? I know this thread has been old and what not, so please bare with me. Thanks.

Do I pick up some conditioning oil? or just the cheap kits? What ratio should I charge?
                hahahahah

Go to shop and get them to take out ALL the old r12 out

Get a retrofit kit and do that

Most important to get the old stuff out!!!!!!

And if u want get them to do a leak test but if u retrofit it to r134a its cheap so.......
