engine still strong, but going bad

so my engine smell like burning oil and the muffler would blow out light white smoke. I check my spark plugs recently and number 1 and 3 have been covered in oil. Is it a bad vavle seal?

where the plugs cover with oil before you removed them from the head?

often, it's the lower tube seals that leak oil into the spark plugs tube seals.

you mentioned white smoke. is it constant or does it go away once the car has warmed up? you said it's white, which would indicate burning coolant. later.

also a leakdown test should be done to rule out a BHG. later.

if your car stumbles upon start-up then it might be a blown head gasket, if your coolant is a milky color, like it's getting mixed w/ oil, then it is most likely a blown head gasket. And finally, white smoke usually indicates a blown head gasket.

But don't worry, I'm in the process of fixing that issue myself on my car...since mine is leaking. I've already got my cylinder head sent out to the machine shop to get rebuilt. I'll be sure to write a DIY for the DIY section once I'm all done and through w/ mine....should be sometime this weekend.

I'm doing it for the first time on my car, so be on the look out for a DIY, since many members seem to have similar issues as i'm having. It might be beneficial to you. It's certainly do-able by yourself if you can follow directions and are organized as you do it.

my car was shooting out white smoke for a lil while, but i didnt pay attention to it cause it was in the middle of the winter and it was freezing so i though it was just the heat from the exhaust(kinda like when you can see your breath when its cold out) but then a couple days later i threw a rod, so you should get that check out asap

To some people, a car is a car. But to people like us, its so much more than just a car. Its a getaway. Its our hiding spot. Its our comfort. Its an extension of ourselves.

You need to provide more info.

                      1) When checking plugs 1 & 3, was there oil in the spark plug tubes before you did that or did the 5/8" socket you used come out with oil on it? If so, you need lower tube seals replaced, common issue on higher mileage F22ax motors.

                      2) Bad valve seals is a different issue from the lower tube seals. This could be a reason for you burning oil. However, you could also have other oil leaks causing this issue. What have you done to conclude burning oil and what is the condition of your motor? Any leaks present, if so where? Describe.

                      3) Ignore what people have said about blown headgasket. If you accurately described your problem about "light white smoke", then more than likely you do not have a blown headgasket. This is normal, condensation in exhaust. If you described your white smoke to be a heavy/thick white smoke that smells sweet like coolant, then you may have blown headgasket or could also have a coolant leak in your head/then into the chambers. Another could be bad intake manifold gasket. Blown headgasket, you will get coolant into your motor oil, it will look milky/caramel in color.

I'm pretty sure that the head gasket isn't blown.

The other day when I took out all of the spark plugs # 1 and 3 had oil on the theads and even on the spark/gap as well as the upper part of the plug and tube where the spark seated in. So, today, what I did is I replaced my vavle cover and I applied some more silicone sealant onto the spark plug seals. lower seals???? what are these???
