    May give EGR a shot?

After installing the AEM SR yesterday.I gained sort of confidence about doing the job myself on my car, haha.
I read the articles about how to clean the egr ports. And I kinda feel that the slight rattle feeling during the acceleration at lower speed around 2k RPMs were caused by clogged EGR ports. Not that sure, but is it worth a shot? If so,I will go get a slide hammer and try to clean them myself. The issue is I don't have a drill ,that really sucks.Wondering if I can rent one somewhere.

ask a neighbor or a good friend. shouldn't hurt. then try your local hardware stores or even automotive stores to see if they rent out drills.

      yeah,I will try.
I am just wondering how come if I rev it up a bit while in park. The exhaust smell is very bad,it's like exhaust gas,but bit stronger,my friend said it's a faulty O2 sensor?
      Any idea guys?

If it smells like rotten eggs, I would suggest getting your fuel injection cleaned.

if it smells like eggs, you should stop farting in your car with the recirulation button on. hah. steam cleaning is always an option. JP

well our cars run a bit rich anyway,if it is running to rich it could be your timing is off, or you may have a faulty o2 sensor, but if it smells anything like eggs or shit check your cat, a clogged cat will smell like ass. or with your car running get behing and smell the air coming out of the tail pipe it should smell nice, if it smells to much like fuel than you may be running rich, if it smells mellow, your fine, it will smell a little like fuel but no to much.,do you smell gas in the cabin? i'm to lazt to scroll back up?

yeah,a little bit gas smell when first open the vent, but just for a while, might be a slight injector leak.
I will get the timing adjusted for sure next week as the mileage is pissing me off. It's gas smell,no mellow,no egg.
                    thanx man.

have you checked the ground and your block for leakage? you should leav your timing alone if its not that. i would look into the injector o- ring seals, that would be a likely culprit, hell its easy to do yourself,if your doing your egr ports anyway why not take the fuel rail off,and take the intake mani right out and give it a really good cleaning,i have done a bit of them now and i can remove it clean it and have it back togther in under 2 hours. what takes the longest is getting the ports nice and clean.
