    Another CEL issue...

    This deal has been goin on since yesterday (5/9/08)...Driving the CB and all of a sudden in 4th gear, the car hesitates to accelerate like Fuel wasn't being delivered at its fullest. First thought in my head...was my fuel filter was goin out on me. But so i downshifted to 3rd and the car just ran fine, then back to 4th and it was back to normal. For that couple of seconds heh....up came a light...stopped....green light, in 1st gear was normal but 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear some hesitation making me sound like a nooby at a manual/stick shift car all over again...So this morning on the way to work, same thing happens again but only in 4th...and this time i downshifted to 2nd from a 40 roll. Then to 3rd and then to 5th gear cruising at 50mph...CB then ran normal from there on. But getting closer to work...i see the evil CEL just smiling at me till when i finally parked and turned the engine off...any clue on what it could be? I haven't done the DIY CEL yet since im at work.

    oh yeah...all i've done to the F22A1 was put in Seafoam...im also thinkin i might've put too much or...it actually did some action and the CB is tryin to poop out the gunk?

          holy shiz hahaha my 7 hours are already almost up...got about 1 hour left till i leave this hellhole!...but ahhh no feedback? dam...if my cb won't start, im blaming all you guys!!! tahaha jp.

            hmm after work yesterday..i left the lot and the CEL wasn't there no more...my only guess is this:

            I put a lil too much of Seafoam cuz fail at the Instructions on the container cuz I are FOB . And so it caused my engine to fire gasoline retardedly, effecting my O2 sensor and hence the CEL... that sound about possible?
            BTW...when this incident happend...and my CEL came on...then i parked...i shut the engine off..waited like 5 seconds...and turned engine back on in parking lot just to see if the CEL was a solid/constant CEL...but no...it wasn't there. Guess if my prediction is right...then hopefully the new guys will know

              K i cant do a CEL diagnostic cuz...once in awhile when i get the CEL while driving like on the way home....i leave the engine on...run and get a paper clip...shut engine off..then do the deal...turn the car to ON position...CEL disappears and it starts fine It made me realize that i may be running too rich and causing my O2 sensor to throw the CEL IMO...(ahh i gotta poop)..

                You cant put too much seafoam in. And check the cel without turning it off.

                  o...i think i did hahaha plus i also had only about 7 bucks worth of gas left in the tank...but hmm check CEL while engine on i will try. If i get electrocuted..im suing

                    whats with this seafoam advice...if a motor is running well, there's no need to seafoam it unless it is right before a smog checkup.

                    anyhow, id suspect an ignition problem. ive had that problem with a coil and ignitor however my motor just killed on me randomely.

                      o...well everything was fine until i added seafoam in...reason why i keep bringing it up haha. But possibly an issue with my coil and/or ignitor? hmmm so what if i were to change those...and same issue still happens...what else could it be so i can do like a process of elimination deal?

                      My NGK sparks are 3 to 5 months old...new 1 week old spark plug wires...and not even a year old fuel pressure regulator that's still new in my opinion....could this possibly my EGR that needs cleaning? I am at 187K miles...

                        check your coolant level, if its low once in awhile and you have to constantly top it off like me, it might be a head gasket, if all your hoses aren't leaking and what not.

                          Yeah sheeit! my coolant does need refill once in awhile...no leaks on hoses so damnit hahaha head gasket it is! O well, shouldn't be too hard to fix.
