ok here are four runs... i only got four, and it was my first time at the track with this engine (actually, it was my first time at the track with a manual too). Also these are in order first to last.

The first run I launched at 3k, but all I did was keep spinning the tires, tried to feather it out but didn't work too well. And third r/t was my bad haha.

If you shift at 7300 you're a wuss... jk

Seriously though get good sticky icky tires and try shifting closer to 8k like 7800 maybe. Me personally i go to 8k but thats just me.

My redline is 8k. Are you supposed to go that close to redline? I would go test myself on an empty street, but I still haven't put my exhaust back on and I don't want everyone within a mile to be able to hear me.

No it doesnt...The time doesnt start until you get off the line that when the timer starts. The reaction time is just your reaction time it does not factor into the final quarter mile time.

Anyway your 60 fts suck which tells me you were just spinning tire by the looks of it.

or if your pressure plate doesnt release all the way, true story.

if you keep spinning tire you need to lower your tire pressure.

if you spin tires you need to learn to feather the clutch, or get beefier tires, such as drag radials

I prefer to call that heel toe downshifting...Double clutching was used back in the day when cars did NOT have synchroes. Nowadays cars have synchroes so shifting is smoother and easier. As I recall trucks in the army still use the old gear boxes and need to double clutch to upshift since its old school but its reliable as hell.

another thing that would help is maybe revving higher... I shift at around 8k with my h22.

Keep in mind stock tach is not a reliable source so you sometimes have to go over. By my third gear my tach starts to get 200 rpm or so off. So usually to compensate I run my engine to around 7500-7700 in that range.

hmm my rev limiter is actually around 7600-7800 on my tach. Was trying to watch the road, so not exactly sure. Okay, so next race day is next friday, so I'll try a little less tire pressure and revving a little higher (since I wont be able to afford a new suspension or tires within the next week haha). I'll see if I can get any quicker.

koolkoreanked, what ecu do you have? and is it chipped (or using vafc)?

edit: just looked up p13 rev limiter, wiki says its at 7600. so I could shift at 7500 i guess?

double clutching doesn't make you faster.. it's just better for your drivetrain.

I suck at driving. I've raced with crappy tires, negative camber, and a totally fried clutch... and still managed to get in the 15.1-15.0 range. I never got below 15, sadly. I'm hoping to skip the 14s entirely My shift light goes on at 7200, and I have a rev limiter at 7500.

Get a proper exhaust. An open header wouldn't promote flow as well as a properly designed exhaust. A good exhaust will actually help suck the spent gas away from the exhaust ports, rather than just be forced out.

Check and make sure your trans is really an H22 trans. Do a compression test to make sure your motor is healthy. Check your timing... it may be off.
