i also got a spare ignitor from the JY today from a 120K mile 92 EX so if mine is crapped out, I'll use that one. Since it looks like that dizzy was pretty new.

okay, well its not the ignitor causing the problem, I just swapped mine out for the JY one and it still causes the same symptoms, rough start and limiting at 5500rpm's. Well I had to get gas tonight (Chevron) so maybe a full tank would cure it. I only got 255 to this past tank, maybe b/c I was WOT pretty much all the time, or maybe b/c of this problem idk.

Dontcha hate these little problems where you swap out so many parts with no result? Very frustrating. I've done it with both the accords I've owned, each was a different thing though.

It's never something bad enough to drop serious cash on, for me, just enough to get you slightly miffed.

        Happens on all cars really

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

yep, It's been pretty damn frustrating. At first I thought I messed up doing the valve adjustment, or somehow putting the rocker arm o rings in but it doesn't seem to do it all the time. So idk what's going on. I'll give it some time, maybe it'll go away idk, I just really hope it triggers a CEL, then at least I'll know what direction to go w/ the diagnosing.

I know exactly what you mean! I thought it was just me, I'm always hoping for a CEL it's kind of backwards from everyone else who is hoping to never get a cel. I got a CEL a few months back and I got so excited. I was on my way to work when it came on, and I stayed in the parking lot to check it so I was late coming in!

And last year I went to honda on the free inspection day to see if they could find something I couldn't

Don't let it get ya down though, remember the good times

haha to tell ya the truth, I've owned this car since Oct. of 2003 and NOT ONE CEL yet. I was kinda hoping I'd get an O2 CEL since I figured those only last 60K miles and I've already put on at least 50K since I bought the car + whatever the other owner did on it. But back to topic at hand, lol.....should I put another bottle of injector cleaner in? I figured it has to do w/ either fuel or ignition and I think I pretty much covered the ignition part of the deal THROUGHLY.

Hmmm well what about your wires and plugs. And are the wires properly separated and distanced from metal parts? Because there is the possibility of grounding or crossfire between wires. There could be a cut on the wire sheath. Also try cleaning your grounds. Use like a light grinding wheel or some sandpaper to bring it down to bare metal.

Did you say you have a new cap and rotor? If not, take the cap off and use some sandpaper to lightly sand the terminals, then the contact on the rotor, anywhere the spark has to travel/jump.

Is there any custom wiring in your car? Any wires been cut/spliced? Any wires brittle and cracked?

When you added your coolant, how did the old stuff look? Is it recent or old and grody.

There is a lot of stuff in the stickies that I have referenced and have read over the years. They can help.

I forgot, did you say when the problem started?

well they've been ongoing for months, since I had leaky tube seals on the bottom, so I thought that was the cause of them, you know the bogging in the beginning. But then when i fixed them, not a drop of oil on the spark plugs now, it still feels like its doing the same thing.

na prob. just for the past two months, but it rarely happened compared to now, like maybe once a week if that. I thought it was mostly attributed to the rocker arm o rings so I replaced them and this stuff happens, every time I start the car now. its getting annoying. I'm gonna go get a complete diag. tomorrow, i know it'll cost me but that's all I know I can do now.

Recently, problem with starting. (In the morning, hot day)
Also while driving tech read 0 rpm and comes up.
Engine restarts while driving buy pushing more gas.
Ordered Main fuel relay, and found out that my ignition coil was bad.
Using multi-meter, 1st coil does not read any resistance. lol.
Once ignition coil goes bad, soon or later ignitor will have problem too.
I am going with Honda OEM parts. No ebay stuff.. I can't trust them.

yeah, went through all that fun stuff, tested the continuity of my coil then swapped it out for a good cond. JY one, then swapped out my ignitor for a newer JY one, still same probs. And had my main relay replaced w/ a new one less than 2 yrs ago.

I have the exact same problem, I still think the timing belt is off by one tooth and the lower oil seals need to be changed. Man if you fix this please post or send me a pm.
