Car stumbling when I give it 3/4-Max throttle...

Okay within the past week something's been up w/ my CB7. Whenever I give it gas to pass someone on the highway, its like the rev limiter kicks in and the car kinda stumbles at about 4-5k rpms and doesn't want to go, like something is holding it back, I hear a popping sound out the back of the exhaust....really rapid popping, when its doing this. A guy suggested the TPS sensor or the Crank position sensor when I mentioned this issue. I did have the H23 TB/Plenum swap done, but that was way back in Dec 07 and the problem has only come w/in the past week or so. I don't think I installed the TPS wrong, since I reused my F22 one and it's been fine until now. I also have stumbling upon start-up, I even tried putting a bottle of fuel injector cleaner, and it doesn't seem to work. What could this be? do I need to recalibrate my TPS even if I dont have any CEL codes?

I've recently done (w/in past two weeks):
    -new NGK wires
    -new rotor
    -new cap
-new rocker arm O-ring seals to stop the leak into the spark plug tubes
    -new plugs
    -cleaned out the IACV
    -valve adjustment
-swapped out ignitor units (JY one still does this problem)
-swapped out ignition coils w/ 100% funtioning one (tested)
    -coolant sensor swapped out
-added a bottle of fuel injector cleaner

should I get a better Oct. gas? I'm using 87 right now, but for the mods I did, you think 89 would be necessary? And I put Chevron gas in there, not some shitty gas.

how do you adjust the TPS though? is it just loosening the screws and turning it until it gives the required reading?

you gotta cut a slot in the screws, cuz they're rivets, then loosen them, make the adjustment by turning it like you would a distributor, while using an ohmeter to get the correct reading, then just tighten them back down.

You could save some time though by checking the readings first before you go looking for the dremel

oh its already slotted, I had to swap the F22 TPS to my new H23 TB, Owequitit helped me transfer it to my new TB, so I should expect it to be pretty much spot on...since he wrote the DIY.

We just guessed at the location of the TPS, and it worked, so we didn't calibrate it. It may need calibrated, although since it has been fine for months and months, I would expect it to be something else first. Plus with a TPS out of spec, it will usually throw a code. I would try ignition related stuff first.

yeah I already did new NGK wires (today), plugs (2 weeks ago), rotor (one week ago) a valve adj (2 weeks ago), and rocker arm seals (2 weeks ago)....I'm running outta options, what else could fail? The ignitor and main relay were replaced 2 years ago w/ brand new units. I'm STUMPED. I even cleaned out the IACV and dumped a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in.

Actually, the TPS generally will not throw a code unless it fails completely, or opens more than 100%. My TPS being out of adjustment was causing my transmission to randomly not downshift at times. That went away once I properly adjusted it to 0.45V closed. I highly recommend adjusting it, as it is very easy.

okay so how much does a multimeter cost? what's a good one to invest in? I've never done this before so I have no clue. Would I need any special attachments to calibrate the TPS?

just buy a cheapo one from the autoparts store. it will come in handy in all types of situations.

a t-wire tap is all you need for the red wire. theres a DIY for this and the fixed link is on the 2nd page. my car ran awesome and it was .10volts off.
                            I <3 G60.

0.5mm Oversized Stainless valves and bronze guides available. Pm me please.

That is a possibility, but most every one I have dealt with threw a code.
