    Altenator?

    will an altenator from an B series work properly on my F series accord? i have a friend who is selling one very cheap. the mounting points look like they bolt up the same. i havent checked the plug differences though.

    i know a h22 is the same and i think the D serise is the same dont know about the B

      well i hope so. i dont feel like shelling out $100+ for an altenator right now.

      and plus his has an AEM pulley on it. lol

        I don't know either, but if you are going to try it check the # of ribs.

          .. I know for a fact it has a lower output but if your not running anything huge for audio you will be fine. But you just need to measure it and make sure the mounts are the same. pulleys can be swapped out.

            well i was comparing them today and the main plug(the green one that goes into the back of the alternator to the main harness) is round on my altenator while it is square on his. so it will not work. oh well...

              autozone has them for sale on 1990 honda accords for like $80 with your old alternator i think. i have to reaplace my alternator soon too.

                You could also just replace the brushes for $15, since that's what fails in the alternator.
