    Do resonators really hurt flow?

i have a 2.5" headerback exhaust with a silencer on the muffler. i wanted to take the silencer off, so i threw on a big resonator after the cat, but its still too loud. VERY deep, nice tone, just too much of it.

since, no matter what, i will have the silencer ON, should i take the resonator back off? i know they are supposed to make the exhaust tone deeper but do they also affect flow? btw, i have a 22" magnaflow resonator with 2.5" in/out w/2.5" perforated core.

If you have the straight through design, it doesnt hurt that much. Maybe if you had like mad horsepower, but i wouldnt worry about it if i was You. What does hurt, is that Cat! i dont have a cat. All i have is headerback 2.5 with a straight through glasspack and then my skunk2 on the end... sounds good.

oops, my bad. i meant i have the resonator where the cat would be... i dont have a cat either.

is your setup loud? can you get a sound or video clip? i have the longest resonator i could find and a straightthrough muffler, just like the skunk probably is, but mine was way too loud for my taste.
