Stripped Sparkplug socket. Rethreading?

This is actually for my 3G hatchie, but I'd rather ask here than on 3geez The same principle applies, I'm sure!

One of the spark plug sockets in the head is stripped, and the plug won't fit properly. I'v eseen rethreading kits from JC Whitney and stuff for $12-$30, but I don't know if they are exactly what I need.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Spark plug... you mean in the head? or on the actual spark plug.. if its in the head you need to get it heat coiled.. and thats not even guarenteed to work.. you might need a new head.

I'm eventually buying a whole new engine, so it's not a big deal. I'd just like to get it running decently for the time being.
