I recently had to replace the hose that goes under the distributor to the heater core, the hose clamps were also bad, as they formed a groove in the hose and lost their tension.

if the thermostat was stuck shut he'd overheat...not eat coolant...I think there is something else going on that is not being observed.

So, I parked on a box. No coolant is leaking.
Could it be the Water Pump?

if there are no leaks and you are losing coolant...it HAS to be going somewhere...there is a bleed....or something valve...on it...but this would show a leak.

It is possible you have a slow leak that will only show up under higher rpms

It is also possible you have a faulty HG...

at this point...we don't know...is prolly the general consensus

my fiance's car is doing this crap (I know I've made like 3 replies about that)

any way pretty sure her head gasket is going out...only sign is that her coolant ends up flowing out the over flow tank.

Her oil is not sweet and is fine...

you can have a faulty head gasket and not have a lot of coolant in your oil and not smell it in the exhaust. Her exhaust does smell kinda...funky...prolly cause of this...oh well...

LET us know what the mech says though if you don't mind

God...I hate these stupid probs. My girls car did this, but it was only a cracked rad (a real bitch to replace). THen about 10 days later, my car did this. It blew the heater hose mentiond earlier. Now today i had my hood poped while it was runing, and i saw my rad. cap spitting out coolant!

                      SO this problem still exists....
I got someone to look at it. They think that it is the water pump.
considering all other things appear fine.
so leak test etc to come....
