    Eating Coolant

My car is consuming coolant at an alarming rate!!!
I have zero clue as to why. But I put in enough 50/50 to fill it, then within one day of driving it is gone. I dont smell it burning, I dont see it coming out as white smoke. the car just heats up to the maximum temperature and I put more in. I dont see puddles of it either.....

rad cap weak and flowing out?

otherwise there's a leak somewhere...how's your exhaust smell? Eh within a day you'd notice bad running if the head gasket was blown...uhm...what else is going on?

Only suggestion I have is to fill 'er up, park over a dry spot...let the car warm up to running temp...then look around for puddles.

Blown head gasket might be your problem.

x2 check for leaking....park on a dry spot....also check your oil and see if there is any coolant mixing with the oil.

I dont think its your HG. If it were, youd notice the car running badly and im assuming this has been going on for at least a few days, if not, longer...

I had the same problem. Replaced the HG. STILL have the same problem. I would say try checking/replacing things like the T-Stat, coolant temp sensor, etc.

If theyre all good, and your HG is in good condition, then....

You'll be in the same boat i am.

It cant be the Headgasket, becuase as I said there is no leak.
The exhaust smells like rotten eggs, because I have a busted cat.

check for leaks on a dry spot if your car isn't smoking its not your hg you would see a blue smoke and it would smell funny. As for how much a hg replacement costs I would say at least 1k cause you have to take the motor apart to fix it so theres gonna be alot of labor involved.

if it's the head gasket you wouldn't SEE the leak...which is why I said to smell your exhaust...don't romp around...just idle...if you smell ANYTHING sweet in your exhaust...coolant is getting in.

Also do like others mentioned...check your oil...does it smell sweet?

If it's a really small leak it could only be kicking out coolant when your rpm's are up (which is when your water pump is in high gear ) so the rpm's could be high enough to compensate for some shitty running and burn out the coolant...just a theory.

while maybe not the best idea...it's used by old schoolers...taste your oil...tip of the tongue...nothing big mind you...you wouldn't need much...tongue can taste sweetness pretty easily and in small quantities....but I wouldn't recommend doing that really HA HA

There is no coolant in the oil.
or oil in the coolant. The exhaust smells like rotten eggs, becuase I have a busted cat...

1 Park on a box, and check for leaks
2 Do a pressure test through the radiator cap
                            3 Do a compression test
