An ignitor or coil isnt hard nor is it dirty. You can bring the distributor in your house and work on the ignitor. The coil itself is just on a 2 or 3 bolt bracket. Doesnt take long to change that out. I dont see why they would do anything to you if they cant see it.

Yeah I know, I replaced it myself last time when I was living in a less restrictive place... Might not seem like a big deal or much of a risk, but getting evicted would be very bad for me at this exact moment... just not worth it even to save $100 in labor.

Also can be bad grounding to the battery to fender and corrosion on battery.

hmm the coil huh...could be because it died at 5500 rpm. The coil that im using is out of my F22a1 because my h22a coil was DOA. Could this be the problem? And if so what year prelude do i order the coil for? because i know i looked into this before and found lots of external coils

Well, it was the fuel pump. Got the car back today and it feels like it's got a little more power... running pretty well.

I hope this is the last problem, because I'm junking it if something breaks again.
