    WTF is this ?

as some of you know i'm into audio/ wireing and i was just trying to trace a wire when i come upon this little box (see pic below) it was rusted and the wiers were put together with non OEM electrical tape which made me start to wonder.

After pulling off all the electrical tape i found ou that there was yellow, Blue, Red,Orange, black i traced the wiers to their source

Yellow- From harness loped into box
Blue- cut about 6" from the box
    Red- batt
    Orange- head light
    Black- ground

looking at how this was connected it didnt look like a OEM install so now im wondering what can this little box be ??????

that's the black box. like in an airplane, it records everything before an accident. seriously, don't know wtf it is. could be some sensor to an alarm or part of an old stereo system. just rip it out and take out any wiring with it if you are bored.

the silver thing that looks like a miniature amp is an injector resistor. no idea what that other thing is.

It could contain a fuse for a stereo unit, be a remote start part, or even a part to a car alarm. See if there's any writing or anything printed on it, that'd probably a good place to start.

No sh*t, those actually do exist. But only in newer model cars. They claim they've been putting them in since the 80's, but hopefully our cars don't have one. I understand the concept of having one in a car, but frankly I feel it's an invasion of privacy. My car belongs to me not the f*cking government.

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

I've seen those! Some of the new GMs have them. Pretty crazy, it records how hard you mash the brake & gas pedal, measures acceleration, braking deceleration, top speed, etc. I read some story about a guy in a firebird or trans am or something who caused a major accident. Insane.
