    Idle adjustment

I was tryin to adjust the idle speed on my car and my haynes manual says while the engine is running disconect the IAC electrical connector. When i do this the engine dies. I tried leaving it plugged in and turning the adjustment screw but that didnt work. WTF?

yea that happened to me when i did it a while ago... i dont think i ever really "fixed" my idle or changed it for that matter... but after resetting the ecu about a million times, unplugging the connector and plugging it back in and everything.. and letting the car warm up on it's own... the idle went to about 700 +/- 100 rpms..

now i can take off the connector, and the car doesn't die.. so.. i don't really know what happened..
