    vapors

Well last week I took off my cat and had a straight pipe run from my header to my exhaust. Now when I drive I get high as hell from the vapors. Its mad strong. Im definately gonna put something in there. If I put a test pipe will it catch the fumes or should I go wit a high flow cat?

You definitely need something that will bolt up there.

How come you took your cat off? It's not a real power gainer, if that is what you were thinking. The stock cat flows very well.

Most states you will need some kind of cat so you can pass smog tests, so you ought to just get a new OEM one or a high flow that is 50 state legal, rather than get a test pipe and have to swap it out for inspection.

Im in Minnesota we dont have inspections here. I got more low end power now. Its not huge but its definately a difference. I was looking for power thats why I took it off. I should just put a high flow cat on ya think?

Are you sure you don't have a exhaust leak now. I have a test pipe and the only time I smell it is when I back up.

Im pretty sure there is not a leak. I only started smelling it after the job at the shop. I dont have anything- no test pipe or cat. So you have a test pipe and you cant smell anything?

Not necessarily an exhaust leak, but quite possible. Nonetheless, just get another cat welded on, its not going to hurt. Honest. "High flow" cats are cheap, effective for decent number of years, and aren't going to hurt your perceivable power. And even if it did hurt power noticeably, its still going to be a minor hit compared to how much a cat helps.

Just cause things aren't illegal doesn't mean their advisable, yah know?

So should I get a high flow cat or just a regular cat. Probably not a big difference anyways.

well do you like feeling dizzy and feeling 1 hp of more power? or would you rather breath easy and not kill the environment? At least get a catco or magnaflow high flow cat, they're like 55 bucks on ebay.
