How to identify a auto transmission?

My tranny has no sticker where its suppose to (above starter). Is there any way? Im pretty sure its been changed out ( the cooler lines are fucked and there is writing on the trans)

So is there any other way to identify a tranny (lol than sounds funny)

If it looks like a woman, but has a bulge, that'd be a tranny.

List your tire/wheel size, and list what RPM you're traveling at 70 and 80mph. In 5th, or 4th if you have an auto.

That would be the first obvious clue. Second would be theres only one linkage where the manual has two where both the shift linkages in the car hook on.

Code just like the engine but its a decal down where the edge meets the block. its not casted its stuck there so if the sticker is removed the only way is to test it and guess gearing with rpm and go from there.

I know there are some stickers on the front by the dipstick. would those do anything?

most likely no. There is an easy way of spotting lsd and non lsd trans. But to know the differences of each trans your gonna have to test each one by speed/rpm to calculate the gearing.
