    Air bag reset

I have a '95 Accord EX and I am probably in the wrong place, but thought maybe someone here could help. I need to reset my airbag module since the bags deployed in a wreck (new bags have been installed). Does anyone have any info on how to do that or at least know where I might go for it? I have been told the module should have been replaced also. Any truth to that?

    Thanks!

In 1994+ Honda incorperated the Inertia switches into the SRS module rather then have them mounted in the chassis.

So with that being said if your Airbags deployed it is more then likely that your intertia switches are damaged inside the module and you will need a new module.

Honda's SRS system can not be reset. It resets automaticaly every time the ignition it turned to the run position. It runs a full diagnostic and then reports a trouble and disables the system if a fault is found.

If the fault is repaired then the light will turn off and the system activiate automaticly.

Thanks for the info BustedLX. I do appreciate the response. Bummer! I was hoping the guy that told me to replce the module was wrong! Oh well, life goes on. Do the inertia switches bust every time the bags deploy? I installed a set of used bags from a '94 that I bought off of ebay, but the sensors etc. that came with them didn't fit my '95 system. So far, I haven't reinstalled the fuse in the panel for the air bags system since installing the new bags. Is it safe to put the fuse back in and let it run it's diagnostic tests to check it for damage without fear of the bags deploying by themselves?

      Thanks again,
      Steve
