VSS and P/S lines need an understanding????

ok so can someone tell me why the vss has the lines included in the power steering system? if you loop those lines will vss not work? what is their purpose?. i ask becuase i have looped my rack and just looped the vss together(filled with fluid) so it stays lubed. but i also have no odometer or speedo movement and have a dtc 17 for vss(I DO HAVE A BAD WIRING HARNESS AND KNOW IT)( just haven't had the time to swap them out. just wondering if the looping would also cause this. please let me know guys.

my car didn't come with the ps lines going to the vss so I left it unhooked, and it has been fine.

accords have speed sensitive power steering.
those lines are what adjusts the power steering "boost." low speed=more boost, high speed=less boost. I ended up looping them cause i forgot about em one time pulling the tranny and got pissed so i decided to never forget again.
