    Do I need another engine?

My 145,*** F22A1 engine is in good shape right now, but I think I might need an engine transplant soon.

    The reasons why include:
I drive it to the redline through all 4 gears. (Not on public streets, and it's an automatic)
I never got a tune up since 112,*** miles.
I never get my oil changed every 3,000 miles (more like 4,000).

What type of engine should I put in ther place of my F22A1 when it's time? I don't want a H22 and I can't afford JDM right now, so what else is left?

you need to learn how to search there are a bunch of alternatives and cheaper engines to go with and plus your engine doesnt have high mileage you just need a full tune up and youll be fine 145,000 miles aint shit most people here have over that and still redline there cars my car has over 235,000 and i step on the gas everyday and it hasnt gave me no problems

you should know better than to post a thread on the swap section i mean you have over a 100 posts but it seems that most of them are prolly just random posts if i were id delete this before someone gets on here and flames you for posting something that has been coverd many times before

JDM does not have to be expensive. You can pick up a F20A DOHC with matching transmission for less than 800.00. Just have to search around ur local shops, or even online shops.

Try these guys:www.jspecauto.com, they have a really good reputation. Give them a call because they have a lot more engine than they advertise online.

Ebay and Google can be your friend:

              That's NOTHING for the F.
Oil change at 4,000 is probably earlier than needed unless it's driven like that exclusively. I go WOT often with mine at 165k miles and 7,500 OCI (valve train is spotless, getting 30 MPG, and pass Mass emissions test easily).
There's no such thing as a tune up if you've been maintaining the car and keeping records to begin with. I'd say spark plugs need to be changed now if you're using copper ones. Coolant and hoses is something to check too. Timing Belt also.

I wouldn't worry about the engine at all. Its the transmission that I'd be concerned with, unless you're going for a 5-speed swap. Change the fluid (maybe go to a synthetic), external cooler with thermostat, and an external filter.

DO NOT EVER drive when you're drinking something, and avoid driving tired unless absolutely necessary.

I forgot to mention, I never shift my automatic transmission. I meant I drive it hard through all 4 gears (redline to be exact) without shifting the transmission. Sorry for the misleading.

                        Peace.

I think you should save your money for an H22, especially since your current motor appears to run fine.

you could also stop driving it like a douche bag..that might help

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. If I could find a track somewhere near my area (I live in Lithonia, GA), I would be thrilled to drive my car as fast as possible. Thanks for the idea.
