the difference between an h22 and an h23 tranny is very little the gears in an h23 tranny r a little longer but the final is the same in both

F22 has longer gearing...great for road driving..( gas saver ..lower rev while highway driving )

H23 and H22 trans...has much shorter gearing...( higher rev during highway driving ...say 4Gs... ) you will have to get used to the higher rev...and a little more gas being used!

depends on how you drive....I will say...the H23 trans is a middle way mod!

better than the F22 trans..but not as close ratioed as the H22 trans!

          H23 trans pulls fine!

Thts up to you, We are sayin that the trannies will work, do u want a long geard, short geared, or EVEN SHORTER geared trans

For the h22 motor, its best to have the h22 trans. THEY ARE MADE FOR EACH OTHER.

if you leave the vtec at the stock xover, but if you drop it to 4700 where it should be, then it shouldn't fall out of vtec between shifts with the f tranny, but the f tranny has a smaller/weaker input shaft and isn't as tough.

civic and teg guys with h22's created a plate to mate up the b series trannies because the h tranny really isn't geared that low compared to other upper end honda motors.

you won't get better gas mileage with an f or h23 tranny on the h22a though. longer gears require more power to get going too and usually, something in the middle is best for everything. geared too low and yeah, you drink gas but too high and you need to floor it to get going with any urgency.

the h22 tranny is really a median tranny anyway, it's not geared low and not high.

my experience, the h23 trans is shorter than the h22 trans on h22 motor.

Your asking the same STUFF. The F22 will work but isnt for the H22.

Your better off gettin a h23 for it. But if u dont have the money for a good trans. Jus use the F22 you
                            ll b ok

This has all been covered. Many many times. In this thread, it has been covered many, many times.

The difference is the gearing. The strength isn't an issue for most applications, as people are putting down well over 400hp with F22 transmissions. The H22 transmission is best for the H22. That's why Honda designed it that way. The H23 transmission is ok. The F22 transmission will work, but you'll likely shift into a higher gear below the stock vtec crossover. As fizzbob7 said, you can get something to lower that crossover to prevent that.
