    H23a1 swap

So completed my swap and car started right up, yet haveing some wierd issues. As it idalls at 2200 rpms and adjusting the idall screw does nothing. the intake make a strang deep humming noise. after a little while it starts to idall up and down, checked the white cap on the FITV and its all the way down. notice coolant coming from the hole at the bottom of the lower timing cover which leads me to believe the water pump is leaking. That shoudn't cause it to run funny should it? I am using my f22a1 5 spd tranny. but running it with a auto 4ws p14 the motor came out of an auto 4ws prelude!!!
    Any thought would be awsome!!!

Couple things, If it idles at 2200 and dosent drop down you have a major vacume leak.

Next, If you have a leaking water pump address that first before the idle.

3rd, The 4ws ECU should NOT be used. USE the P14, Or chipped ECU with h23 basemap.

This thing is not drivable. And when it is i will do the water pump 4 sure...

now the idle goes from 2200 to 1000 up and down did the fatv check and its good. also the tinniest touch of the throtle and the rpms jump up to 3500.deffinetly sounds like a vacume leak to me also, but with a vac gauge on vacume changes with idle 20-15 hg. the humming noise is not a normal intake humming noise it sound s like there is a reed in the mani so its like a vibrating humming noise. if i can figure out how to add a short video clip from my phone i will post it and every1 can here. no cel or codes present. this is really kickn my ass...

Here is a good trick to find vacume leaks, Start the engine, then take a can of carb cleaner and spray each vacume hose or where the gaskets are on the intake. If the idle drops down then there is where your vacume leak is.

            problem solved

So i changed out my iacv with the 1 off the f22a1 and bam all good. Here some pics of my swap!!! dont mind the things that are not hooked up like power steering line and wat not. i have oil and coolant leaking out of the timing covers so not gonna be driving it untill i do water pump timing belt and all the front seals. Took it for a spin around the block man much faster than the f22a1. very happy with swap. Please dont bash me for all the painting i like it even though you will all probly think it is riced out!!

Yeha i think that when i tried cleaning it out i just made it worse and probly sticky, but just so every1 knows you can use the f22ax iacv on the h23 IM Plenum..

hey its not my cup of tea (the painting) but it looks really good man. I'm doing the same swap right now cuz my f22a4 broke the #2 rod due to an extreme ass kicking for 3 weeks strait.

yeah it was easier then i thought it was gonna be, got it done in three days. my f22a1 is still good, but i am gna do a build on it for like 20 psi, so all internals will be replaced. hopefully it will be done by next summer.
