Its not secured to anything I just rested it there

its a evap purge solenoid, and yes you need it for emissions

it's supposed to hang on the firewall with a bracket and two nuts... i am assuming you have an auto...

No is it differnt if I have a 5 speed

What is this sensor and is it needed?
