    h22 head on a F22

Is it possible to put a h22 head on the f22 block?

Yes but it's not worth it. You will make probably a little more power than a DOHC F22B

You'd have a compression ratio of 8.3:1 in comparison to the pretty low 8.8:1 you're sporting right now. The only advantage to this is the great flowing head is going to do well in a turbo application. But in my opinion, still not worth it.

The F22A head flows better than the H22 head.

I don't know if I'd say all THAT...

But I will say it makes more sense to swap an F22B DOHC or H23A head on the F22A block than an H22A head...

I seriously don't think my car would be much faster than an F22B DOHC car if I had the stock tranny, and had to shift at 6300-6500RPM...

The H22 head with the F22 compression and low RPM limit isn't nearly as good as with the H22 bottom end (yes, a stock F22 bottom end CAN rev as high as an H22 head would want, but who would trust an old F22 bottom end at those speeds?)

The F22A head flows VERY well, and it does flow better than the H22 head. I'd trust Bisi on that one... he chose the motor for a reason. He's also a record holder for a reason. If the H22 head was a better choice, I'm sure he would've gone with that.

As for the F22B DOHC and H23, I can't say for certain. The room needed for the VTEC stuff on the H22 head is much of what limits the flow capabilities, so the non-VTEC DOHC heads MIGHT be better flowing...

i know first hand the outcome of this swap and i know the first hand about an h22 swap.........so heres my 2 cents.......... the f22 will rev as high as u want it IF you increase the oil pressure you should have no problems with the f bottom the only problem i had was spun bearings due to not enough oil pressure the f bottom starves of oil at high rpms with the stock oil pump, another advantage is the f is already sleeved and it gives you a super low comp ratio great for boost the best part of it was the torque it lacked on the hp side of it but the torque was incrediable
do what u want its your ride in my opinion if u have the stuff the swap is worth it ........to others its not
                F22A1:blew up
                F22A1/H22:blew up
                F22A6/H22: " "
                F22A4/H22: " "
                H23A1 boosted:blew up
                H23A1:traded
H23A1/H22 built:still in progress (getting my feet wet)
