im not going to be tuning myself, but i was just curious as to what factors are used when adjusting vtec engagement. i heard once that its best set where the hp/tq plots cross, but thats always after 5k. from what ive seen most tuned h22's are engaging around 4800. what are the pro's and cons of having a lower or higher set vtec?

The way I see it to have the Vtec set low enough so that when I shift at about 7400-7500 rpm the car won't drop out of Vtec in the next gear.Originally posted by DrLove'sKuDang

yea thats the right way for the most power. every engine is going to be a little different anyway, but you want it set really high, and then set really low, and see where the power overlaps and thats where you should have it set at.Originally posted by fizzbob7
