Starting to save up but im not really sure which to go with. Not sure what can and cant be done to each engine. What would be the best way to go. Let me know your opinion's on the two engines. Thanks.

I'm sorry, but u should know to search by now...
anyways, h22 is the best motor for the money hands down...the f20 is destroked so there is not as much torque...therefore h22 is better in a gist
oh yea and since ur wondering what can't be done, I would not recommend boost for either engine...u may here, oh f20b is a good candidate for boost...but not at the 11:1 compression it has I beleiveYeah, Preludes

H22A easy... you can't replace displacement
If I had my way, I'd have a balanced H23A crank in my car... 7% power/torque boost all throughout the rev range...
Plus unless you get the full 5-speed swap, you have no way of making sure you get the 200HP motor over the 180HP one; I'm pretty sure you have to change injectors over, it won't run 100% with a P13, etc., etc... H22A is definitely the way to go.

They're similar. Ask yourself, do you want to rev high, or do you want low-end power?
The differences aren't quite as drastic as it may seem. .2L isn't earth-shattering, and the extra RPMs you get from the F20B aren't astronomically high...
The F20B has a peakier powerband, though. It would be fun, but I'd stick to the H22.

Speaking from experience here, the F20B is an EXTREMELY fun motor, especially in an accord. The thing just purrs up to the 8200 rpm redline. The nice thing about the F20B, if you have an F22 transmission, and you shift at redline, you don't fall out of VTEC. Buahahha. If you do want to boost, get the F20B. While it has high compression, it doesn't have FRM sleeves, so you save yourself about $800 dollars in sleeving costs over an H22. Slap in some low comp pistons and some rods, and you're set. And the torque difference between the H22 and F20B really isn't that much (8-10 lbs?).
However, the H22 is DEFINITELY easier to swap in.
Though, at $1300 for an F20B from Hmotors, I'd honestly get an F20B.
Really just personal preference, they are both an absolute blast to drive.Originally posted by sweet91accordif aredy time i need to put something in cb7tuner. you guy need to me a smart ass about and bust on my spelling, gramar and shit like that in so sorry.

3K+ worth of VTEC would definitely be nice though.Last edited by gloryaccordy; 04-22-2007, 08:40 PM.

We just had to use the F22 harness, cut the obd1 injector clips off, solder on the obd2 clips, swap the egr from the F22, and get an OBD1 H22 intake manifold. Right now it's running off of an H22 map scaled for the F20B's 310cc injectors.Originally posted by sweet91accordif aredy time i need to put something in cb7tuner. you guy need to me a smart ass about and bust on my spelling, gramar and shit like that in so sorry.

For a while i was thinking about going H22 but I just dont understand why i would want to be the same as everyone else. So thats why i was thinking about going F20B. And so far im still thinking about it. I love runin up to 8200 rpms. So far it looks like the F20B would let me be more flexible with either all motor or boost. Anyone else wanna state their opinions?

Iv never seen or driven an F20b, so i dont think its really safe to compare it to the H22. What i have driven, though, is a 200bhp 1.8l engine that can rev past 8500, and its fun as shit.
Dont let the lack of torque scare you away. Torque is something a lot of people dont seem to understand.Last edited by Accord R33; 04-22-2007, 10:43 PM.

So are you tellin me thats it's ok not to have that torque or its bad to not have that torque? I honestly want a engine im going to enjoy and love the shit out of. Its not so serious that I need a fast car. Just something faster. Thats fun. Thats why im really thinkin a little less torque wont hurt anything.
