Also, there was no J series in the 5th gen (94-97) Accord. It was a C series. There is nothing similar about the 2 except the number of cylinders.
Isn't the 3.0 CL for all intents and purposes a 5th gen coupe chassis?
edit: Doing more research, I found that the CL code is a YA22, vs CD. It's likely to be a derivative chassis, so maybe some of the similarities can be useful for mounting a J in the Cb.
well im too damn lazy to read all that shit, but what started all this j-series talk in a k20 thread???
and what the hell is everyone debating??? whether a k or a j would be better in an accord? and on top of that, if a j-series is even possible in an accord???
just like every other random thread starting with "can you put a (insert engine code from random car) into an accord?" bottomline, with enough money you can do anything.
i, for one, would prefer a k20r over any j. good power, good torque, 6spd as well... and its a helluva lot lighter than a 3.2ltr v6. why do you think alot of people frown upon a h22 into a hatch... yes, great power-to-weight, BUT its way nose heavy.
and about scott's h22 beating a j32, maybe, maybe not. but he has a fully built motor. you give a j32 an i/h/e setup and itll be making around 230whp/190-200tq. put that power into an accord chassis, and i think the h22 will have a run for its money.
but now i dont even know what the fuck im talkin about, so im done.
actually, someone on honda tech weighted the difference between an h22 and b18.

Well to some degree, but I think it may actually have more in common with the CG Accord.
The CL debuted in 97 and ran until what 2001? So it may be a hybrid of the 2, but without direct comparison you wouldn't know for sure.
It is certainly possible, but not guaranteed.
Don't worry though. If someone doesn't beat me to it, it is on the back burner...
K20 would suck in a CB7, not enough torque. What you want is a K24A2 in a CB7. But thats also kinda pointless unless the engine is really built up.
......
How can you say it sucks without experiencing it? Looking at the peak numbers and power curve it has. I'd say its much better then the F series that comes stock on the Accord. There are other countless choices of engines to choose when going for a custom swap.
honestly i think a k-series belongs in a civic, i mean not just the h22, but the f22b, f20a, etc. all can be done w/far less complications and achieve the same power
i think originality only comes into play when talking about k-series into cb's
we need to step it up a notch or 2, i wanna see a j-series in a cb, i could easily find out what the weight is w/ all accessories added(plus tranny) for a j30/32 easily to alleviate(sp?) weight compromising
my friend just recently did his k-series swap into his civic, he autox, and he says it like they belong there, almost perfect weight distribution, more stout power band(even better than his b18c5 he says), and its not boosted as some do right afterward
i think owequitit said k-series swapped civics do 13's easily, so thats why i'd stick to civics for the motor
hey if any specs are needed for the j-series, i can get them, for sake of agrument, to see if can be done w/some time, effort, and of course MONEY

I did gagoogity that girl. I gashmoigitied her gaflavity with my googis. And I am sorry.
This Accord no longer has a K series in it. It was replaced with a stock F22B after a lot of modification.
However, the good news is that apparently, HASport's K series mounts should be just about on the market, if they aren't already.
Do you have a link to this information and for what chassis are they supposedly making the mounts for??? To my knowledge they had no plans on releasing specific mount kits to swap a K into an Accord.....1 employee had it done in his 5th Gen but that car switched hands and was/is parted out
might i ask why would this even be considered?
look how many motors we have that we can swap... why want something you can't have... ohh wait thats human nature if you wanna do the swap sweet do it.
i wanna race ya after you do though.
I don't understand why anybody in their right mind would spend $5000 plus on a k20 ep3 swap which only has 160 horsepower and is only gonna give u 40 horsepower on a f22.Now that RDX motor the k23 I think is a different story
I am not sure where I read that about the engine mounts. It may have been Honda-Tech, which good luck going and finding it if you want to know. It may have also been AZHT, but I don't think so.

The particular Accord had the TSX K24 swapped into it. Nobody wanted to pay enough for the car, so he took it out, and was going to put a K24 from an Accord into it. But I don't think anyone wanted to pay that price either, so he jus said "fuck it" and pulled the whole thing out and sold the chassis.
