hybrid build up? yes or no?

ok so i was thinking should i build up a h23 block with higher compression pistons and get a h22 head and maybe do some head work to that because i thought maybe it would be cheaper or should i just save some money and just get the h22? the reson why i even think of the hybrid is that i could get it done peace by peace cheaper do you think this is true?

oh, quit being a bitch. i doubt people are intentionally ignoring your shit.

but yeah, you can do it but something i've yet to see is one of these hybrids lasting more than a few thousand miles WHEN DRIVEN HARD. i drive the shit out of my cars and a lot of hybrid guys have luck when driving something stuff normally. not racing the hell out of it, just normal daily driving.

in the past year, maybe there have been advancements in the h23/h22 combo but i doubt it. you'll have guys tell you it's great but i promise you, if you drive it hard it will die on you before a year is up. there was a guy who went all out on a frankenstein and it didn't make it 10,000 miles. he drove it hard, at the track, etc.

      it died.

if you drive it like an h23 then it will probably be fine, but then you're not getting the full benefit of the head which is meant to breathe at high rpm. drive it like an h22a, it will die quickly.

a modded h23 would serve you just as well. maybe not as great gas mileage if you cam it to make power, but you won't be working on it all the time either.

use h22a1 pistions and get the crank balanced well. then put the h22 head on it with a good cam. dont rev the piss out of it. anyone think of something I missed?

putting a head on an f22 block is retarded. it would be better to stick to an h23 block because of the compression differences.

            higher compression is always better.

do you think a 12:1 piston would be to high?

are you willing to spend $1000 TUNING it?

ok i think im just gonna go with a f22 build up because there cheep motors i can easily get one for $100 and im gonna put the type-s pistons in it and do some head work and put a h23 intake manny beause if it blows or sumin goes wrong i can just put the stock motor back ina and it will be cool

$400 for used pistons that are prone to skirt problems? don't get it. why not get custom forged pistons and pay just a tiny bit more.

I was being sarcastic, as most people say the safe limit for boring the 85mm f block is only to 86mm, so trying to put 87mm pistons in there would be risky.

I agree with you, get some aftermarket 11:1 pistons, clean up the factory rods and go with it.
