for those of use unable to swap the h22 just yet. i was considering by the time i actually have money around the k20 swaps will probably be cheaper.....and more effective then the h22 with the six speed tranny. i havent really thought it through but a custom header would probably have to be made and im sure a ton of things may be differnt. just throwing it out there to see what others think...

dont worry this will be done soon enough..
there alreay been put into 7th gen civics and others
ive seen it in a 91 hatchback believe it or not.. they even went as far as to put the dash on it to.. to make wiring easy and for looks i guess
compare the size of their engine bays to ours.. and yeh.. lol.. accords have a bigger engine space.. its just a matter of whose wants to take on the task of the mounts/wiring.. i dont think with the size of our engine bay ud have to knock the firewall any.. but it is possible..if any..
but yeh .. alot of wiring goes into that swap.. would be cool.. it would take me a while to get used to the motor being backwards..
6speed sounds so nice though

yes I had been seriously thinking about this for a while... the engine is pricey so the idea kind of went away... I figured I would build the h22, but then I found a very nice deal and was considering it again. the problems like stated would be mounts and wiring. not sure on header fitment either... I know a company that should be developing mounts and maybe a plug and play harness hopefully soon. One of the main reasons I want it is for the tranny... I figure the only thing comparable for us would be a type r or euro r tranny which is still not as good and would be already like at least half the cost of a k20 (well for me at least ) oh and as for axles someone told me rsx axles will work perfectly... I don't want to spread wrong rumors but thats what I've heard from a pretty reliable source. btw Im thinking its appx. 100 pounds lighter then an h22 engine/tranny combo... it was 22-25 pounds lighter then a b series, which are supposedly around 70-75 pounds lighter then an h-series.HSHO #3

k series are in quite a few cars now... including the new accord crv and tsx, those are all 2.4 so there is the possibility to upgrade to a larger displacement quite easily, which is the only downside I see in this swap, slightly less torque. the k20a is jdm itr which is what I want. there is also a k20a in the jdm ctr that makes like 5 less hp, engine code is the same since they don't have #'s after the engine code in japan. the k20a2 is a usdm rsx-s. the base rsx and civic si's have the k20a3 I believe. so anyways yes they spin the other way, and are also mounted backwards (compared to us now) so it doesn't really present any other problems you just need to use the engine/tranny combo. the new s2000 has an f22(c?) actually... kinda strange that they get the same code as us cause they bumped it up to a 2.2HSHO #3

The head gasket from the K20A2 and the F20C are identical and there are many other similarities between the motors. Think about the tranny location in comparison to the intake/exhaust manifolds. My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

Why a K20??? Why not go with the K24 which comes in the '03+ Accords? Oh, and technicaly the K motors spin the "correct way" (clockwise) All other Hondas, including ours, spin the "wrong way" and have the engine on the left side, vs being on the right like every other FWD car since the beginning of time. I don't know why Honda did it this way for so many years.00 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7 V8 4X4
