    JDM F22B question..

Allright, I'm thinking of finding a JDM F22B and putting it in my '90 Accord....Now I know that these engines are rare, but my question is, if I do get the engine, what kind of mods can I do to it?? I mean, bolt on things like header, cam gears, etc. etc. is it possible to get those things for this engine?? And is it possible to get aftermarket bolt on parts for H23A1 and H22A and bolt it on this engine?? I'm just wondering, 'coz I was thinking of getting an H23A1, but knowing it's USDM, most of them are going to have high kms (or mileage for ppl in the US ), that's why I'm heading towards the JDM F22B....But before I start looking, I just want to make sure that I'll be able to crank out some more hp out of this engine..
Any info on this would be highly appreciated...Thx a lot!!

    Ronald

pretty much all h23 aftermarket parts you can use.. you can even use to f22a stuff if you want. i think i ordered my distributor parts for the accord to use on the f22b

mine will be For sale in june/july

Ah nice thx a lot for the info!! I feel better now..Hehe I thought it'd be hard to get aftermarket parts for it...

And now for the tranny...Is there such a thing as transmission that comes with the F22B, or do I have to use my stock F22A tranny?? Just wondering if they have any difference or not...I'm guessin if the F22B does have matching transmission, then it'd have a shorter ratio than the F22A??

Also, can I use the ECU off the F22A or do I also have to get the matching ECU for the F22B?? Or maybe even use ECU off H23A1??

      Somebody please explain.... Thx..

Hmm okay so the actual tranny for the F22B would have shorter gears than the F22A tranny?? Which one has a better kick though?? Acceleration wise and such?? Or is it just a personal preference type of thing??

Allright and I'm also guessing that if I do the swap, I'm going to need a different ECU?? Which ECU do I use for the F22B?? One off an H23A?? or F22A???

I'm sorry, I'm not too familiar with the ECU codes yet..Ya know, P13, P08, P28, PR3, etc. etc...Does anybody have a link where I can learn about all the different types of ECU and which engines use them??? If so, please post up the link for it...I want to learn... Thanks!!

the f22b tranny is similar to the h23. a f22b/h23 tranny falls right in between a f22a tranny(longer gears) and a h22 tranny(shorter gears). longer gears better for highway driving, and shorter gears is better for quicker acceleration. about the ecu, a usdm p14 or a jdm p39.

Pending confirmation of the F22B DOHC tranny code, I'll throw in my 2 cents...

I have heard from a few F22B dohc owners recently that the F22B tranny code is the same as the F22B1/2 tranny and not the H23 tranny... meaning that the F22B tranny is not geared that much better than an F22A tranny... same first gear and just a hair shorter after that but nothing close to the H23...

Still waiting on that tranny code though...

I think...I'm not sure... but off the top of my head I think... M2A4 is a JDM H22A tranny isn't it?

The correct tranny is suppose to be M2J5, looks like they just swapped out trannys and gave you an h22a non lsd tranny...
look on the brite side, its worth more!
