    b18c inside 92 accord?

does the b18c fit inside the 92 accord with little modifications? thanks.

this swap is possible, but will require a lot of custom work.

    -drive shafts
    -engine mounts
    -harnesses???not sure

...much cheaper and probably better performance if u were to swap in a later model H22 motor from the Prelude Type-S or a F20B from a Euro Accord R. My choice is the F20B. It is very revvy like the B18C but is a direct fit and has a bunch more torque than the B18.

Dont attempt it. Yes it has more hp but wheres the torque. Buy something with bigger displacement. An obd1 H22A works just fine unless you get the euro R, Type S, or the F20B which needs modification and obd2-obd1 conversion.

there is a b18c for sale locally and i was gonna pick it up if it fit into my car. cheaper than having to have someone ship me one. The engine only has about 75k miles. comes with a turbo too.

here we go again with the b series swap onto the accord.

          its not ideal.

          theres not enough torque

the accord is too heavy for the motor

          mounting the motor isnt cheap

wiring the motor is more of a headache

all that and you would of gotten decent h22 or a motor that just swaps in easily for about the same cost and less headache

The CB chassis comes with a 1.8L and a 2.0L in other countries... the B18 would move the car. It wouldn't be nearly as good as in a Civic or Integra, but it wouldn't be terrible. A turbo would make it a fairly potent motor.

However, the impracticality of doing the swap would make it not worth it. It will probably cost you about $200 to have an h22 shipped to you. That's about $2000 total, for a motor with 40,000 miles on it (ECU and transmission as well). It will most likely cost you well over $1000 for the custom parts alone for the B18 swap. Mounts, axles, wiring, fuel lines, coolant lines... so many things would need to be fabricated and/or modified. Even then, you couldn't guarantee that everything would be right. You could go through 3 sets of mounts and 6 sets of axles before you got the geometry perfect.

I say if the motor is a cheap deal i would buy it then try to sell it to make money for an h22.

That would be a smart move.

Yes because its too much of a hassle. Your gonna have a harder time puttin the thing in and getting it to run so even if its turbocharged theres still no way to get it to run unless you do some custom modification.

I would actually love to see how it would work out. Everyone says it would be terrible, but no ones ever actually done it (probably for good reason). but im still just a little curious.

I would still have to agree it probably wouldnt be worth the hassle, especially with the H22 so readily and cheaply available. B18c's are uber expensive. The only REAL advantage i can see is that the b18c is 80lbs lighter than the H22, making for a slightly more ideal weight distribution. might be decent for a gutted, autox track CB7

Just wondering, but what if all the custom shit was taken care of? All thats needed is the engine.

Still wouldnt do it because of the cost. 3000-4000 w/o shipping for a small motor when I can get an H22A for around 2000 with shipping and it has a bigger displacement.
