OK so I just got an entire 92 lx with a manual tranny. It was rolled so the body is junk. My car is also a 92 lx. My question is though....does anyone have a list of the parts that are not going to come from the junker? Like I know putting a new clutch in is gonna be my first thing and I figured the seal, maybe flywheel? Yes I've looked through the swap page. There's a ton of parts that I don't even know what they are but I figure having an entire car to pull from will be key. I'm just wondering what people bought brand new when they did their swap? Any tips, as far as what kind of clutch to buy? Any advice would be great. Thanks.

any clutch that fits F or H series engines will fit, dont matter.

everything else, just get from the donator car.

new flywheel and clutch assembly. since the stock are much heavier. might as well change the flywheel and clutch assembly since ur going to be changin the transmission. im currently going thru auto-manual swap it's still not complete but it ok cuz i have a second car to drive. but so far i gotten everything from the junkyard except the transmission, slave cylinder, flywheel, clutch assembly, and the axle and intermediate shaft... the axle and intermediate shaft u can pull from the junkyard but i havent done that figure buy a new one since they cost cheap.

auto to manual swaps are soo effin easy, its not even funny.
they require just a BIT more work than a normal swap does. Im in the middle of a auto to manual swap as we speak. I got the pedals in yesterday, got the clutch line in.
I found out that an auto 90 ex doesnt have the holes to mount the dampner. so yea, im gona drill some holes today.
the swap should be done as soon as the owner gets a hold of a 5th gen tranny mount.

It also requires some wiring but shouldnt be bad at all.

i'm still in the middle of swappin my auto to manual. found a great deal. i still dun know anyone that can help me install the manual transmission into my car.. well i do but they work and when their off they rather lay down on the couch and watch tv. i dont feel confidence i could do this because i havent seen much pictures. not even the haynes book was good enough for me. so.. i know i need someone with experience to help out while i learn. the worse part i'm scare of is the flywheel installation cuz that's in the engine. i know i need a jackstand to support the car up but to slide the tranny out from under the car? the car has to be lift HIGH dont it? like maybe 4 feet off the ground? maybe 3? my car is drop so lifting the front high i'm might damage my muffler. i'm basically on my own here. then. even when i read throughly how to remove the tranny and install it. i just still dont feel confidence in myself. like maybe i'll forget something and something bad going to happen since i dont know what will happen next. i wish i saw someone do this throughtly or a website in VIDEO CLIP how to remove a tranny out of the cb7. that woulda been a blast. till then. wish me luck. for some who might respond take my car to the shop, they wont let me around the car while installin it due to insurance. i want to learn that's why i got to do it myself.

YAYAY i just got back from jarhead's crib. got the tranny flywheel and clutch assembly. strange. i thought the flywheel was much bigger but they look so small.. thought they suppose to be heavy since ebay sayin their shit so much lighter and it aint that heavy i could pick it up with one hand..so.. i got home. put down my tranny. and pop my hood open.. i took a look. so much shit so little room.. and the sun shine on my back with heat..lil bit water start to drip from my forehead and i realize. i shouldnt b smiling yet. cuz i'm bout to go through hell.. i'm debating if i should call up friends and face the car the opposite way away from the sun and do this auto-manual swap. or should i take it to the shop and have it done. for an extra buck.. if i do. i gotta wait 2 mo week till my money come thru from work.. OR.. do it now and be able to drive it tmw and be able to make it to the meet.. both side sound good.. but damm.. i wish it was simple as entering a battery in a remote control. jeez..

trust me, its really not that hard. if you want, you could take out the whole engine, but thats just me cuz i would clean up the whole engine bay, lol.
make sure you have the tool to align the flywheel and you should be good.
it really isnt as hard as it seems, its just very time consuming and takes patience. that hardest part for you is prolly gona be trying to get that hardline in there since you're not taking the engine out.
for putting in the pedals, take out your seat, it will be MUCH easier.

i already got the pedal in and the clutch line in and the.. gear.. the ecu. and the wire done. wut's left to do is install transmission, flywheel, clutch assembly, (need new slave cylinder looks bad and wrong) axle and intermediate shaft, and the mount (not included) ... the worse part is i dont even have all the tools. =( . and i dont have the flywheel alignment tool i heard. but i did have sumthing that came with the tranny. jarhead said it had sumthing to do with the tranny. kinda look like the radiator mount thing..maybe that's the alignment? he also mention that i need new bolt for the flywheel.. that the auto bolt wont fix the manual.
