    Best swap for 250-300+hp?

Yes yes...search, but to no avail.

My F22a1 is showing its signs of its years of use and I wanna start a build.

So, I was wondering how much work would be involved in putting an F series in to reach 250-300hp for street driving(parts, tuning, etc...). I don't mind going FI and I will be forging the internals little by little so I can be sure it can handle the minor abuse if I go FI. I was also thinking H22, but, how much work would have to be done to make that reliable and capable of everyday driving at those levels? I know this isnt a question regarding some 500hp motor, but I want something that will give me the power when I need it and good response, and be able to take a 500 mile trip when I want to. Don't wanna go overly expensive, but I am willing to put $3500-4500 into the motor when building it up, but would like to keep it under. Then save for the turbo if I decide to go that route. I dunno! :'(

Turbo JDM F22B if not anything else with an F block. Maybe an H23 which will work also.

Shit 3500 bucks !! Big balla lol Show us what a f22 can do.
      sleeves $800.
      rods and pistons $1000.
      deltacam 272 turbo cam $120.
Build your own turbo kit $1000.
      chipped ecu about 150.
Axles for 300-400 hp $300-$400 i think they are cheeper i havent checked in a while.
Your under 3500 bucks and able to run 20psi easy.
using your f22 seeing you already have it saves ya from buying another motor. Go for it man id love to see it.

Yeah, the motor is still good, but I wanna make sure the block can handle MUCH more power for reliability. And I still gotta get the new motor which will run $600 i'm guessing for an F, and for an H, 15-2000. So gotta throw that into the equasion. Not really a baller, just would rather spend the $$$ now than even more in the long run when I blew something apart because I was too cheap.

Well thats what the sleeves are for now ive heard the stock block can take 300-400 hp now i dont know if this is true but with it sleeved it should take 600-800 look into golden eagle sleeves.

dont even get sleeves, you said you dont want insane power, but something around the 300whp?? the block should be hard enough to handle that....

I'd say do like these guys. Boost the F. saves the trouble of swapping and you already got one that will work. Good Luck to you

man this whole boosting scene is like people with B18s in Civics, everyone is doing it.......go N/A, build a unique F22 either SOHC or DOHC(VTEC or Non-VTEC)
do the whole 9 yards with block work and head work, find some good pistons and rods, and show that N/A can stand up to a Turbo....

I'm planning on buying a used motor so I can still drive my car while i'm working on the new one to swap in. So that is also going into my total money estimate.

I want to make 300hp, but it's also still going to be my daily driver so I would like the block to have some room for error, which is why I was thinking about the sleeving. I mean, the scoobys have been known to handle 450-500 stock block, so if the F blocks could handle that, damn!

I'm still doing research on the F series and their strength and would prefer to NOT go H22. And if I did go H22, a majority of my cash would be spent sleeving that damn thing.

Trust me when I say I would LOVE to go turbo again. Driving around 600+hp N/A cars is fun, but there is just something I love about driving with a turbo car.

And you have the money to do this? NA is harder than turbo IMO and it requires pretty deep pockets. The serious all motor civic/teg guys they spend a pretty penny on all there parts. So if you want to run with the best NA on F22 you better be ready to shell out the money. Cisco is the only one running the stock f22a all motor and he dyno'd like 152 whp something like that which isnt bad.

the stock sleeves are cast iron, they can take quite a bit of abuse. what you COULD do is get an H23 block and get that sleeved, if that is in fact your intention, since the deck is closed deck, and not open deck. just a thought.

h23 sleeves hold nicely as well. just ask bjaccord, he knows all about it. he's doing 13's with his boosted h23. stock block and internals.
