H22 Automatic

I finally have enough money for an h22 swap , and i am fed up with getting smoked by everybody and quite frankly my car has 217k and feels really slow especially going up hills.I want to do an h22 swap on my accord but it's auto and i do not in anyway want to change it to 5 speed because i live in the city and it's annoyin.I was just want to get the point of view from you guys.Is it worth it to get an h22 automatic?.

well green it depends on you i mean everyone is gonna tell you thats "Its your money your car do what you want with it"

but yea its worth getting an H22 automatic but thats if you dont plan on racing it or thinking of building a N/A h22 because if you are then your better off with the 5 speed or if you want you can upgrade the torque converter and buy one off of level ten cause they specialize in automatics but its going to cost you So what do you plan on doing to it well performance wise?

Basic bolt ons like intake , exhaust,headers.My original plan was to get a 94-01 integra or civic 94-00 5 speed but everyone that them was an asshole and
wanted $3500+ so i was like fuck it i might as well stick with my accord and use that money for an h22.

You live in NY. You will get knocked on allllllll day long for havin an Automatic H22. I live in Philly and seriously, if I saw someone or knew someone who had an Automatic H22, I would just LMAO. I seriously dont see the point. But thats just me.

Sorry to be so harsh, but thats my honest opinon and I never got why people got Automatic Swaps.

coming from me dude seriously i think its worth it i did the swap on the red cb which i recently sold . it was quite fast for an auto .. dont listen to no one . take it from a guy that was auto . all i had was a p28 ws2 exahust and headers ,,, youll be amazed on how it runs .people that talk about auto h22 havent even been on one .. i can tell you that..

My shop teacher told me that if an Automatic were to race a Manual (Apple for Apple), The Automatic would win (most of the time). He told me that there is no mistake in the Shifting process (b/c of the fact that its an Automatic).

You really wouldnt be able to Rev or anything. You could Neutral bomb it (but then again, you would fuck up the tranny lol)

Idk. Its just the thirll of driving a Stick thats all. And an Automatic H22 swap is ALOT cheaper than the 5spd one.

The founder of this site had an auto h22 for a while (he converted, but he was auto for most of his time with the H). I played around with him on the highway, and he kept up just fine with my similarly modded 5 speed.

Auto saps a bit more than 5 speed in terms of drivetrain loss, but not horrible. The most noticable loss is off the line. From a roll, auto is fine.

As mentioned above, Level10 (located in northern NJ I believe... which is good for you) has a good reputation for building automatic transmissions for performance.



Many people will tell you auto is trash... and Honda's autos really aren't the best... but it's not as bad as people make it out to be. If it's what you want, go for it. Auto h22 is better than auto F22!

dont listen to anyone that says an auto h22 is a waste

i have one...ive been laughed at..and have beaten many civics,tegs..manual cars...its not thje fastest but a hell of alot better than an auto f22...the dude hating up top jus thinks manuals are cool..thats his only rebuttle on h22 autos...im swapping to manual..only because i plan on boosting in the future and 5 speeds let me stay in the powerband and give me control...plus true..its more fun to drive..

I do think Manuals are "cooler" than automatics. I dont see the point. You might as well do a 5spd since you're swaping anyways. You said it yourself:

Manual IS more fun to drive... though in NYC, I wouldn't want to mess with that!

If you aren't going for serious power or 1/4 mile numbers, you'll be satisfied with auto. ATX was fairly quick on the highway, but the one time I saw him run at the track he pulled something horrible like a 16.2 (the launch was terrible... he can do better than that... but still... auto h22 cb7 is not a high 14 second car).

yeh what a coincidence...see i swapped to an h22 auto cause i wasnt going for serious power..but i wanted something fqaster than what i had...but now im moving on to more power..probably gonna make this a track car when i get a new car in the coming months...nothin wrong with auto..i hate when people are like autos suck but give no good reason..not saying that thats you its jus like on hondatech

Well,

I grew up around people who have always cracked on Automatics. Like when I got my first car when I was 16, it was a DA. The first Q: that came outta my friends mouth was "YO! IS IT STICK?!"...

Its like, everytime we see a fart can, we point and laugh...Same deal with an Auto Swap. Its like, everytime I see a "hooked up" car, I roll down my windows...and if that shit sounds like an Automatic, I just say eww and roll my windows back up.

Im not hatin (sorda), Im just stating my opinon. It would be cool to have an Auto tranny on my H22 tho, just b/c my g/f doesnt know how to drive stick
