    f22b questions

ok ive searched through the majority of the thread on the swap, and there was a lot of good info. but sum of it brought up some other small questions that i have. yes i realize its a direct swap, which i would assume means we can use our wiring harness? our axels? and i read something about having to wire up the IABs unless i have an f22a6 intake, well ive got an f22a6 intake do i still have to worry about wiring up IABs? i think those are the only questions ive got left, and yes i did search thats where these questions came to my mind. and before you tell me to search, thats wut everyone always says and sumtimes the questions cant be answered because everyone thinks theyve been answered and they havent so searching wont work.

i'm terrified to tell you to search lol

all the IAB issue means is that if you have the f22a6 (it has IABs, the f22a1/4 don't) then you just plug and play......it is gonna be like putting an f22a6 in there, and since you already have one, it's like swapping it out

its cool, i figured i was gonna get flamed i dont really care. they were just a few small questions that i wasnt 100% sure about. ill be doing the swap myself with a buddy of mine over a weekend in the next 2 months. but since it is the exact same thing as swapping in the a6 then i guess my questions ave been answered. i wasnt sure if i was going to need the f22b wiring harness. i know i need eithe the p14 ecu or the p39 ecu, and id like to find a p39 so i dont have to worry about wiring a knock sensor.

            1. you can use your stock harness.

            2. have fun finding a p39 - i can add you to my list if you like.

            3. axle is direct, no modifications or substitutions needed.

            4. if there aren't any at HMO (at least I didn't see any when i was on last week), check out makoto_autoparts on ebay - my F22b was beautiful, and cheap, and had extras

when you order your engine if you havent already talk to the importer about an ecu too thats how i got mine i told the guy i didnt want the engine unless he could get me an ECU and 9 times out of 10 they have ECUs they can sale if i hadnt run into this moving issue i would have already had my chipped ECU and be saling my p39 but if you cant find a p39 talk to midnight racer x about a chipped PO6 he sales them for 150 shipped

on the wiring mine was straight plug and play but take time to prep it clean your engine bay, paint the block, clean up any loose wires, and just do everything to the engine that you can do while its out of the car

yea im gonna be cleaning the entire engine bay as well. i meant to do that wen i replaced my stock engine for another stock engine way back when. ill have to talk to HMO or another importer about an ecu as well.
