this isn't a technical question, it's definitely a swap question. and it's definitely been covered...
you're going to need to look elsewhere for info on this "fantastic idea" of yours - because its just not a normal thing to do - and there's a reason
you don't need a b-series for a 5spd -- and for the "its all the same except the torque" comment, well, torque makes a bit of a difference when you think that our cars are slow enough to go with the stock pull we are given ... and torque is not something that is readily gained as horsepower...
sure, by default if you add power you will gain torque -- but the gain is not necessarily substantial -- displacement and stroke are what REALLY matter at the "get it going" end of things ...
go ahead and do what you choose - we're not the only place to search around here, but yes, it would make more sense to find a b- d- dedicated forum to ask these questions -- AND if you did search here, youd find a handful of threads with the same "its not worth it" responses"-- maybe you did and were hoping to get the answer you wanted this time
no, it hasn't been done yet, not in this community - and if you want to be a pioneer, fine - in the end its your money to blow; frankly i'd just leave it in the teg and do something more worthwhile with the cb7
