    a6 vs a4 ecu? & swap

if i put a a6 ecu into my a4 engine will i get an improvment? really im looking for gas milage. i know the a6 comes with dual runners and i wont have that, but who cares.

would it work? is it a direct swap? would i run into any problems?

i wonder if i should put this in swaps =).
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

it will run.. weither you will get better gas mileage is uncertain seeing as how the A6 produced more power than the A4 and yes it is a direct swap.. u wont have IABs but who cares.. ur in it for gas mileage not power.. anyway.. u said u tried everything but obviously not everything.. swap the ecu and see what happens..
dont give up on the cb7 there is something ur overlooking... on fuel..

What is your gas milage like, you are always trying to improve it. How bad is it really?

Jeez. That mileage sucks. I get better milege with the H22. Hell, before I swapped I could get about 400 miles on 13-14 gallons. I got my F22 sitting in the backyard. Maybe you need that instead?

What haven't you checked yet? I ask because SOMETHING is broken... and by broken, I mean not working right. You should go through your fuel system from tank door to injector seals (although I think you checked those seals already:P). You're about 1/3 down on the rest of us, mileage wise. Check for leaks, check for strange noises, check for worn out stuff, bring your car to the continentals and let me go through it with a fine tooth comb... there's got to be something you haven't checked yet.

Heck, go so far as to do a compresison check. Maybe this in indicative of a larger problem?
