    custom engine

Alright, I wanna keep my accord, but I want to swap in an engine when this one sh!ts out. I was looking to get a used engine, but I want to be the only hands to ever work on it.... sooo, I decided on building a custom engine. My questions are; first, how would you go about starting, I imagined I would pick a block to start with.. and second question is, any recommendations?

Building an engine from the ground up is a meticulous procedure. I am strongly suggesting a swap, the "H" is a great motor. What kind of numbers are you looking for anyhow?

What do you mean by custom engine? Do you mean customize a current engine? Do you mean build a totally different from anything on the market kinda engine from the ground up with your own ideas? Your interest seems somewhat vague and not exactly sure what you are trying to say.

My time frame is between now and when my engine quits, its at about 160,000 now, so I figure somewhere around 200,000-230,000, which is what, like 2 years? This is an every day driver, so mainly what I'm looking for is more torque, a little more horsepower wouldn't hurt, but torque is my main concern. I would like to just start assembling what I need and putting it together, and I figure in 2 years I should have the engine completely assembled and ready to drop in to my car. I'd be happy with putting in a 2.4L honda engine but I want it to be brand new(gonna try and keep this car a long time). If you guys know a place I could get a crate honda engine I'd be very interested, also if anyone has any info on a possible V6 swap into my '91 accord, that'd be great too.
