    H22 Top Speed

So me and my buddy with a 91 MR2 Turbo went out driving tonight, and like a champ, my car out handled his. Unfortunately, he smoked me in the straights. He is putting about 220hp to the wheels. Anyways we get to this loooooooong ass straight that is two lanes and seperated by a jersey barrier to oncoming traffic. This is a popular place for people to test how fast their cars go. Anyway, like my sig says I have a 99 H22A4 with a JDM P13 ECU, OBD1. My car topped out what seemed to be about 115ish, I wasnt trying to stare at the speedo too much. I KNOW that my H22 wanted to keep pulling, it would have for sure tached out before it ever stopped gaining speed. I just read where an H23 has a 135mph speed governor.

    The Question!

Anyone else with a H22 and a p13 ecu, are we all limited by the stupid governor?

Thats probably because you are using a jdm P13ecu. If you use the USDM ecu i think u won't have a govenor. I've heard people with F22a4's or 6's tach out all the way to 130 while some are limited to around 115-20ish. I guess it depends on where ur car was built too? i dunno.

The only option around the jdm govenor is to get a Apexi- Rev speed meter or just getting a chipped ecu like a p28. This thing will bypass the fuel cut off and u can go past the limited 115mph. JDM clusters go to 180km which is 110.
I need a custom turbo manifold built....

with the jdm p13 i was limited to 112mph i think.... i never got any faster then that with that ecu.

i have a p28 tuned for the h22 and i reached about 165 mph and had room to go still.

113 with the JDM P13, which you could of found out by searching. Question is, why do you need to go that fast?

Hey Scott thanks for the advice for searching and I want to go that fast because I am getting my track license this spring, I imagine that most straights will allow me to go faster than 113mph.

                      that ECU limits your speed.
i did 163 mph on my f22 tranny turbo f22b DOHC engine
speed kills if your stupid, but i know when you go on a vette forum, they dont all criticize when you say you just went 200 in the turbo vette.

and yes its a rush from hell and back!

I swear I've gone about 120 with my JDM P13... Maybe not though. I was more focused on keeping some ass that tailgated me pinned in the left lane

What kind of aerodynamic adjustments did you make to support such a high speed? As well as motor build?
