H22 Top Speed

I call bs. I believe 9 out of 10 of the 145+ boys are riding w/ uncalibrated speedos. The trans, motor, body and susp. is not strong enough to be put up to speeds like this.

Secondly, you guys have no regard for you're safety and the safety of others if this 140+ is happening on public roads.

Thirdly, state what model/motor your doing this with. I bounce off the fuel cut at around 117 and I've done it numerous times on long stretches of hwy. And I have witnesses on here.

My h23 prelude has been 140 mph stock racing an evo. The accord is lighter and has about the same aero qualities so 145 isn't out of the question. Before I blew up my h22 accord I topped out 4th gear with the speedo waaaaay past 130 like in the dyno vid.

yeah my stock h23 lude did run about 138 mph... close enough to 140 to just say 140 mph. I wish I had keep the pic in my phone. Just the same a stock h23 lude is capable of running high 14s. Unless the speedo is way off, which it isn't we check the calibration right afterwards. That damn h23 is amazing... Constant pull all the way past 120.

I dont think thats an H22 tranny in the vid. Its too long. The 4th gear pulled until like 130MPH which isnt right for an H22 tranny.

Here is dyno of my h22 /h23 transmission in a EG civic hatch. topping out at 140, also has no porblems hitting 140 on highway and engine is bone stock other then a crome tune but then again only weighs about 2400lbs.

the original thread was h22 top speed, so there it is genious with an h23 trans it is 140mph no more no less. now in the accord i have a dyno where i do a 100mph in 3rd gear at 7k rpms. ok u know what lets make this a gentlemans bet i will fix my speedomter and do a top speed video for u !

and if you have your h22a in a civic, then you better get busy pulling it out and putting it in a cb7.........the civic is not equal to the cb7....a stock h22a in a civic will run 13's and you're good to run a second slower in a cb7

if you wanna be stupid about it, the h22a will top out at XXX in XXXX chassis with XXXX conditions.......since this is a 90-93 accord board, it's understood we're talking about the 90-93 accord usually

im not putting the h22a4 in the accord its staying in my hatch, my accord has an f22a6 with a big evo 16g turbo and thats the way i wan it. yes i know what the civic runs, both of my cars are about as fast as eachother on the 1/4. i never said my accord has an h22 i said i hit over 140 on f22a and f22 trans, reading is fundamental !

im not trying to change focus of shit. i clearly replied to someones post that said accord is not hitting 145+ with whatever engine not h22 in particular, i said that i can, did and could anyday of the week! i never had h22 in accord and dont want to, all i know for a FACT is that the H22 engine with h23 trans is good for exactly 140 mph because the 5th gear ENDS. in the eg platform i am able to top it out on highway. you are arguing for no reason!

hey! thats my video. and according to the computer, we got to 178 before we shut it down. and we had a good 500 or so rpms left, too- But the dyno was shaking so bad we got scared and shut it down.
anyway, it's all worthless without the hp to reach that potential gearing, which the car doesnt have. think of the 200 mph supercharged civic si- they had to bust their ass and make crazy hp to get to 200. the c6 corvette, with more than double h22 hp and six gears and better aerodynamics can't do 200. what's our real top speed?
unless someone's got a friend with a radar gun, we'll never know.

its f22, we've been over this...h22 wont hit those speeds in those gears...80 in 2nd and 110 in 3rd are f22 tranny..

I've hit about 140-145 at about 6000 t0 6200rpm, but i don't think a h22 will do that seeing as how the gears are even closer, than my tranny so I don't understand how soem of these people are claimin 150mph+ out of a h22 tranny. I am gonign to be using a f22 tranny after i pull my motor and put it into my other car, so i'll see how much of a difference that makes.
