Alright here's the question, I can get my hands on the v6 from a CD for pretty much free. the engine bay's are pretty close to the same size, has anyone pondered this swap? I wouldn't be asking if I could find a thread on here about it.

at my job the other day we had a 3.0cl. its the same front suspension right with a cb/cd. a 2.3cl motor will fit in a cb right? so why cant a v6 we put into a cb? it has just about the same room, i dont see a problem with that. if honda had a 5spd v6 alot of people would be doing this swap. just my 2 cents

if you go for it, you're doing it for the sake of being different -- i looked into this myself when I was going to have a J30 available to me for free - one that has head work and all sorts of extras -- but you'll face mounting and cooling, as well as weight issues - it's more to get into for uniqueness and not easy power gain
search the archives, youll find an old thread i started about the whole thing
have fun and good luck either way
***EDIT HERES THE THREAD****J30 SWAP and let me know if you have any other questions, i did a lot of research into the idea, so pick my brain if you wantLast edited by i'm the girl; 12-01-2005, 03:11 AM.

oneoffaccord, there isn't the same amount of room. The front end on the V6 models was stretched a little to allow for the V6. A lot of racing teams got V6-bodied cars and put H22s in them to allow for more room in the engine bay which I'm guessing is the case of the one in your sig, depending on the class it's in.My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!
