The H22 tranny is about the same as the F22 tranny in terms of strength. Mainly in the synchros (manual, obviously). The synchronizers in both the H and F series transmissions seem to wear out. I've had 3 transmissions, 2 F and 1 H... all 3 have had issues. As for automatics, I really don't know.

The H22 can PROBABLY handle 300hp, but it would really be pushing the limits. Good tuning would be necessary for sure! There are guys with turbo F22s that are pushing 250 or so with all stock internals (midnite racer x, for example) so I'm sure it can be done with the H as well. Actually, if MRX is making 250whp, then he's most likely making more than 300 at the crank... if the F22 can do it, the H22 certainly can! A compression-lowering head gasket on a USDM H22 would be my choice if I wanted to attempt a 300hp turbo H22 (I assume you mean turbo...)

yes i do mean turbo. if a h22 couldn't handle more than 300hp on a stock bottom end i say that's a crappy motor to build considering a stock bottom ended b16 can handle it with ease. in good tune that is...it's been done here quite a few times already. and if a stock bottome end f22 can handle 250 like mrx's then i'm sure built it can take more. although the auto would eat more hp than the manual so in order to put down 300 it would take more out of the motor.
