However in Japan the weakest model Accord comes with a F-series SOHC 1.8 F18A that was used in the 4WS CB's and a 1.8 SOHC v-tec version in the newer Torneos and 97up Preludes.

So that said, powerwise a 1.8 liter can still do the job of getting u from point A to B but it's to satisfy enthusiasts that don't really care about performance or that don't have deep enough pockets to get the model with all the bells & whistles. They want to be stylin in the same kinda car that another person in the next lane has but with a 2.2 Type-S.
i've actually seen that motor... its been sitting at the jdm shop for a while

Bseries in a Accord is definately not the way to go but just some specs for eveyone comparing weight. The curb weight of accord is like 200lbs more than integra but an H/F series engine/tranny combo weighs 150lbs more than b series engine/tranny making the weight difference less of a factor.

It would definately be stupid or too much trouble and money to put B series in Accord but the performance would not be affected to much.
You would definatly loose bottom end power though.

Also GSR motors only make 170hp and cost $1000 more than H22

Sure anything is possible with money. GSR in our car eh I bet the thing wouldn't budge out of its parking spot. (Sarcasm here) Well I guess I can now swap in my dads v8 into my geo metro now since everything is possible.

Has ANYBODY read the first post? Or even the first post on this page?

He's saying that his friend's friend is claiming to have the B18C1 in his car already... he's not asking if it's possible, or that he wants it. Yes, it's a horrible idea simply because of the lack of torque and crazy custom work necessary. I would only appreciate a B series in a show car, simply because it's unique and would be worth points that way. If it's actually done, I really want to see! To me, it sounds like someone that know VERY little about Hondas, that perhaps has hung around Honda guys enough to hear that the B18 is the "ultimate" motor... I've been asked by a number of guys if I had a B18C5 in my car... they sound like they know stuff, but they obviously know nothing about Accords!

yes it has been determined that the swap is senseless and that the dude is probably just a kid that act's like he knows what he's saying because he can quote everyone else he listens to but i have to add that the transmission issue could be overcome by using a crv (B20) transmission because they are cable shifter.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the cable vs rod... Even if the CRV setup was used, I'm sure custom cables would be needed. It would be quite lucky if the cables fit! Probably cheaper to create an adapter plate to use the F/H series transmissions.

And Big Body LX, you got me there But yeah, my intention there was that he's not looking to do it himself... and everyone seems to be responding as if that were the issue. It's nice to see that SOMEONE reads though! Thanks for pointing that out (you read my post AND his post well enough to see that... bravo!)

A lot of them don't do it because the h22 weights a litte more than the B Series motors. That in turn leads to understeer. Perhaps some of those peeps run auto X. Saw that vid of an EG hatch with a stock h22 running 13.9. that's awesome.

I say the only Accord I'd swap a C5 into would be a 1989 LX-i Hatchy...a black one, with all black interior that I jacked from one of those rare red ones...
