i don't think so... not without some custom mounts.

a good direct drop-in swap would be the H22a... nice motor!

yeah it does drop right in you just gotta have the F22b1 driver side front mount and you good to go, then wire up Vtec<------ the u gotta switch 2 pins around i think is A6 and A11. and your swap is complete......... i have my Accord 92 Ex for sale posted in here for whoever is interested....

        here it goes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

unless u get the f22b2 then there is no vtec

            F22B2 is non-vtec. F22B1 is vtec.

From what I've read from a few members here, the swap is about the same difficulty level as an H22 swap.

As for the H22 being unreliable, I don't know where you get that idea. If you buy a good motor from a reputable place, a JDM motor with 45,000 miles on it would probably outlast any 100k+ USDM motor. Those who blow H22s are people who a) don't take care of it, b) buy crappy motors, or c) shift to 2nd instead of 4th when racing, after installing an ECU without a rev limiter... (yes boss... I'm talkin 'bout you! )

F22B1 is NOT a performance engine, regardless of VTEC. You can safely boost one a little more easily than you can an H22 (especially a JDM H22) simply because of the compression. If you want turbo SOHC, just boost the F22A! The B1 isn't THAT much more powerful that it justifies a swap, unless your F22A is a dog. Also, tuning the ignition timing for VTEC so it doesn't run lean at the lobe change will take some knowhow. MRX says he can do it in 2 passes at the track, but he knows a hell of a lot more than 99% of this board regarding that stuff!

                wiring vtec

Does any body know how to wire vtec for an f22b1 into a 92 accord. And why does it still have that loping idle.

look at the number 4 post on this thread...other than those pins needing to be changed, it should be pretty straightforward...

u need to do a custom fab for the downpipe flange too cause the header is different than the f22ax

Ok i got that but i am not sure how to know which pins are which. The pin lables inside the computer tell me one way. My helms tells me another. And a print out i got from honda tells me a third and then i found a page and sombody listed a link and that tells me a fourth. I cannot make heads or tails of this. I am about ready to throw in the towel on this a buy a vtec controller. I am literally going insane, after a week of this wiring. I really can't afford to buy the controller because my insurance kills and to have a house with a garage rent kills and so does my g/f's voice. Any body wanna buy it??????? The car???????

                            I got it

I got it. I removed the passenger seat and sat down in the hole and re-did all of my wiring. I went by the link that i found last night. It was for a b16/18 but it was OBD1 and it worked. Thanks anyway. But the vtec does kick in a little early and my low cam is still building power and the vtec lobe is rev limiting too early while i am still making power (not over revving) So i still want to use the vtec controller to eliminate this and help tune her a little better, and so i can just have fun and kick vtec in at like 1500rpm and dumb shit like that.
