ummm......also you do all know that everything comes off the assembly line the year before the model is released...like if you have a 94........it was made in 93.....

so if your engine is stamped 93, like mine......it means it's from a 94 model. technically, yes, it is a 1993...but was never driven until 1994 in the car that it came in. my accord was made in may 89

nah, that doesnt make sense... then why would they be so specific as to put the *exact* date on the block???

I believe what is stamped on the block, is the date the motor rolled off the assembly line..

gimme some sources that prove otherwise, and I'll admit to being wrong.

That's exactly what he is saying, that the year the motor was made could be in 93, but wasn't actually put into a car until 94.

He's correct about the '94 being made in '93 thing. It's only after October though. The production date would read 10/93 or up to 12/93 to be considered a 94. So I would assume it being the same for the motors. Not exactly a whole year, but im sure the cars are made even before that. Either way it wont matter which year exactly for parts, unless parts changed were changed.

edit, I've never seen 'em that early (in May) before they're released. Maybe it's only on new generations that they do that?
