Well, all my motor mount are somehow rip and torn up. So I'm looking to just buy a h22 longblock or whatever that will make the car running to replace my f22a1 without buying extra or more stuff. Sorry, but I don't know much about how the engine is put together or any other stuff. All I'm asking is what do I need to get a h22 in my car the cheapest way. Like not buying a tranny and using my f22a1 tranny. Will it affect the performance or anything. I'm looking to spend less then 1 grand. Are there just the engine for less then 1 grand and will it be all that I need beside the ecu???

and the ecu wiring... all that is is like wiring up anything else. You connect it to something, run it to the ecu and plug it in... voila.

-ecu / either a stock p13 or a chipped/reprogrammed p28
-timing belt / water pump
-aftermarket header(since most jdm motors come w/ the stock header cut after the collectors. and if not, you'd have to get the downpipe custom flanged in order to bolt up to the cb7 cat/exhaust
-wires & plugs
-labor / installation charges if you're not doing the swap yourself
i currently have the F22a6 tranny on my setup.. and yes, it does affect performance. doesn't rev as fast as the H22 tranny and you will probably fall out of vtec from the 1-2 shift if w/ the stock rev limiter. only reason why i stay in vtec is coz my p28 engages vtec @ 4800rpms and revs to 8500rpms; plus i have an upgraded valvetrain to withstand high rpms.

For under $1000, you're going to need some luck. Sure, you can find a longblock for that price, but it may or may not be in good condition.
The F22 tranny is fine, but the motor won't be able to perform as it should. No harm in it, just not as peppy. The F22 trans is great to use when boosting the H22.
All you NEED is the longblock and ECU. I would give hmotorsonline.com a call and see what they can do for you. It WILL be over $1000, but you can be sure you'll get a good motor from them. Primo got a nice motor from japanstarmotors, but I've heard stories of people that weren't so lucky. When you buy from a less reputable place, things have a greater chance of going wrong. If you spend $900 on a motor and ECU, and the motor comes with $300 worth of broken sensors, a blown head gasket, and a burnt exhaust valve or two, did you really save money?
When asking around for places that sell motors, don't talk to the people who had no problems whatsoever. Of course they're happy! They got a good motor! Talk to the people that got broken sensors, or a wrong ECU by mistake. Hear how the company resolved the issue. I know that Steve from HMO always goes out of his way to correct mistakes. Things happen, go with the company that won't try to blame their mistakes on YOU!
