The F22B1 is VTEC, but the F22B2 is not. You won't gain much power, but if you've got a 240k mile engine right now, and you've got a 105k lying around, might as well swap it. Without the VTEC, you'll have almost no problem dropping it in

                    i too need this information

The replacement F22A4 I ordered from a engine importer for my project accord came in, and as me & bullet were in the process of takin things outta the way, i went to mount the distributor on the new motor...and realized something was... "different". my new motor had an external coil, whereas the motor in the car did not... we checked the stampings, just to make sure (because the invoice DID say F22A4 we didn't check the engine stampings) and i found F22B2 on it...

if i'm not mistaken the A4 and the B2 are both SOHC non-Vtec, correct? the specifications on the two are almost identical, and one would need to know the following details..

1> will the B2 be a direct drop in for the CB7 frame, or is any fabrication or special brackets required?

2> will the F22A4 engine externals, and transmission, bolt right up to the B2 block? or am i needing to buy new parts or ship my motor back (i'd prefer new parts)

the header wont line up with the cat, so youll have to fab a peice to make it fit . . . ummm . . . theres a mount situation on the drivers side when swapping in a h22 into the 5th gen (the car your engine came from) but im not sure if it will be a problem if you use your stock mounts . . . ummmm about the dizzy . . . it MIGHT work, but i dont think so

is such fabrication gonna be an easy DIY or should i get a pro to fab me some at an exhaust shop... if it needs to be pro, would it be possible to just run open header *shudders* until i get a new exhaust system all around installed by said professional?

                            s'oz, i ask lotsa dumb questions i bet ^_^

Back up a second and look at the $$ and work compared to the benefits.

244xxx isn't anything to get worried about. If you are burning oil that's one thing. If cylinder compression is weak that's one thing. If the tranny is toast that's one thing. Swapping in a newer, similar engine otherwise isn't worth the time and expense.
