*EDIT*
Im pretty sure Im going with the turbo'd f22b option. Question is: Do I need a tranny swap? I've already got a 5sp tranny in my f22a6, I wouldnt think that I need to get the tranny as part of the swap but never know till you ask. I dont think I'd need all new tranny just going up the stock 20hp and I plan on upgrading the clutch and flywheel and all that jazz a bit later anyway.
I've been looking thru cb7 and ht for about an hour now and cant find something on the topic. Plz be gentle
Before anyone calls me a newb, I already know that damn near EVERYTHING can be answered with the search button. Im just looking for an opinion on what some of the more experienced people think.
I am currently researching and trying to weigh options for a swap for my coupe. When I bought the car I was just going to throw a turbo on it and call it a day. The engine has 168,xxx miles on it now and I have decided I dont wanna put a turbo on that engine with that many miles on it. I have been looking at doing the h22 swap for about 2 months now but just recently started thinking of swapping in a f22b and turboing it. After looking around it seems like the cost would be pretty much the same. I figured im looking at about 2,000 to 2,250 for the h22 engine or around 800 to 900 for the f22b and another 1000 to 1300 for the turbo on it. The f22b turbo should put out a bit more hp, Im thinking somewhere in the 230ish range while the h22 should put down around 180ish? Ofcourse those are just guesses.
What are some of the other pros vs cons of the two options?
