what's that motor rated for and is it exclusivly in the mits?
      WTB:
      88-01 prelude 2.0si (3g) si (4g,5g)
      OR
      90-93 Accord.

Has to be 5spd, has to be CHEAP. SUPER CHEAP. Will be in Indiana in February permanently and want a project car when I get settled in.

The 4G63 turbo is in all the DSM cars (eclipse, talon, laser... and the Galant VR4) It's also in all of the Lancer Evolution cars, even the current day ones. Non-turbo variations of it can be found in a number of unlikely cars, such as the Hyundai Elantra and Sonata.

The turbo motor is 200hp, I believe... I think there are more powerful versions of it out there as well. It's truly an amazing motor, and I think it's one of (if not THE) longest running production 4 cylinder Japanese motors (it's been around for longer than any of the popular Honda motors)

well . . . maybe you could acquire an evo engine from a wrecked early model evo? . . . like through one of the importer companies. GS or GS-T transmissions shouldnt be too hard to come by . . . and im sure theres tons of aftermarket support to strengthen those. . . really great idea . . . maybe someone can actually follow through on this one

The 4G63 has been out for over a decade. The new Evo now has a 4G63 with Mivec. It is one of the best performance motors ever made IMO. Its incredible how much more power this thing was putting out over comperable 4 cylinders. I think Mitsu knows that this is their bread and butter. And hell yeah, it can be put in a CB7 with the right amount of time and patience. Knowledge and Imagination are implied.
